An essential part of this post will be to gain valuable on the job skills and training that will lead to the completion of your SVQ Level 3 in Business and Administration, leading to a Modern Apprenticeship in Business and Administration.Four standard grades, including English at bands 1-3 or an SVQ in Business and Administration at level 2 are essential for this post. A standard grade in administration or computing at bands 1-3 or equivalent would be desirable. You will be a good communicator, have a particular interest in Administration and a positive approach to work and gaining your SVQ and Modern Apprenticeship. Good communication skills and keyboard/IT skills are an essential skill for this post. The job will involve the repair and service of a variety of motor vehicles to high standards for an independent car repair company. Other duties will include examination, inspection and fault diagnosis, and the production of oral and written reports, reading and understanding technical data. No formal qualifications required but you must be literate and numerate. You must have a genuine interest in motor vehicle technology, practical ability and a desire to become a first rate technician. You should also be prepared to learn maths and science with a specific emphasis on motor vehicles. Residential training will be provided at a Delphi training centre during periods of block release from your work. Accommodation and travel during training block release will be provided free of charge. When successful you will be awarded an Advanced Apprenticeship Certificate that includes NVQ Level 3 in Motor Vehicle Service and Repair, a Diploma in Vehicle Technology and three Key Skills. Wage: A minimum of£95.00 per week as an apprentice Hours of work: 8.30am-5.30pm Monday-Saturday on a rotation basis. A maximum of 40 hours weekly for those candidates aged 16 to 18 years. Other information: Delphi will manage the 3-year residential apprentice programme. Block release will be for periods of both 1 and 2 weeks duration.
